Once again like all the classic movie monsters there is so much material out there that we could easily sink a battalion of ships so grab whatever instrument makes you feel safe and follow us on a hunt for the beasts of beast!

This week we are talking all about Mummies, and just to be clear it’s not yours or Brendan Fraser’s we are after, we are talking about the Mummy, generally a long dead Egyptian who rises up from the grave to seek revenge upon a hapless and unsuspecting world when they violate it’s final resting place. We all of course know the Mummy was first made famous by Boris Karloff in 1932 but there have been countless attempts at making more Mummy movies, universal have made a franchise out of it not once but twice. The first time was in the 30s and 40s and then again in the late 90s and into the 2000s, Hammer Horror even had a crack or two as well, so as you can see we have plenty of material to work with.

In this final episode in the series of Based Upon The Works Of we set off into the works of another writer who’s stories on paper have been turned into stories on the screen, but this man is a little different from the rest as he has made a name for himself on the screen as well directing several of his own stories for us to enjoy… or not. The man I refer to is a man in the form of Clive Barker, Mr Barker has taken to film as fluidly as he has to books giving us such as great films like Hellraiser (1987), Nightbreed (1990) and The Midnight Meat Train (2008). We attempted to put together our favorite 10/5 but we soon found that it was harder to get 10 than originally thought, let alone 5. But we managed to drag up a few titles such as Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, Transmorphers 2, Drag Me To Hell, Orphan, Skull Heads and a couple of others.
